The basic nutrient needs of plants are to provide them with growth, reproductive development and the maintenance of crop health. During periods of rapid, active growth or stress, the demand for energy in all parts of the plant depends on the rapid translocation of phosphorus and other nutrients.

The FastPhite formulations combine the benefits of phosphite based fertilisers with specific nutrients, to enhance the performance of particular crops.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PHOSPHATE AND PHOSPHITE

Phosphorus in foliar fertilisers is in the form of phosphates (PO₄)^3-; in FastPhite the phosphorus is in the form of phosphite (PO₃)^3-. FastPhite Phosphorus is more mobile leading to more rapid uptake by leaves, fast translocation across cell membranes and as a result the P moves rapidly from the treated leaves to the roots and vice versa.

The importance of this characteristic is immense. Metabolic phosphorus is used by the plant to carry energy to the sites of bio-chemical reactions involved in the basic needs of the plant. The quicker the phosphorus metabolite reaches the point of need, the faster the response, whether the need is for growth, reproductive development or the maintenance of crop health.

FastPhite applied at critical stages of growth or under conditions of physiological stress, caused by adverse weather conditions, nutrient deficiencies or disease pressure, delivers remarkable results in terms of crop performance, crop nutrient health and high quality.

FASTPHITE APPLICATION RATES AND TIMING:

FastPhite Complete - Specific Applications: Additional Information:

For general purposes: apply FastPhite Complete at 2.5 to 5 l/ha in 200 l/ha of water prior to the onset of adverse conditions caused by physiological stress.

For cereals: apply 2.5 l/ha (at growth stage 30/32) in 200 l/ha of water. Repeat application after 14 days.

For beets and vegetables: apply 2.5 l/ha at 4 to 8 leaf stage in 200 l/ha of water. Repeat application before leaves meet across the rows.

For fruit: apply 5 l/ha in 500 l/ha of water to the foliage pre-flowering.

In May/June continue foliar nutrition with sequential sprays every 7 to 10 days with 2.5 l/ha FastPhite Complete or Nutrifast 14:7:7 (2:1:1) as part of an integrated crop management programme.

Post-harvest: Apply 2.5 l/ha FastPhite Complete to the foliage tank mixed with 2.5kg/ha appropriate Nu-Trel product for extra K, Ca, Mg and/or Trace.

Water rates can be increased from 500 to 1000 l/ha depending on crop density. The rates for fruit are expressed as field hectares.

FastPhite Pulses - Specific Applications: Additional Information:

For peas and beans: Apply 2.5 l/ha in 200 l/ha of water as soon as ground cover is established in Spring. Repeat application every 14 days or as often as necessary.

FastPhite Potatoes - Specific Applications: Additional Information:

Apply 5 l/ha at tuber initiation in 200 l/ha of water. Repeat application with second blight spray.

FastPhite High-K - Specific Applications: Additional Information:

For areas low in K, high in Mg and post-harvest on fruit or where no N is needed. Apply at 2.5 to 5 l/ha in 200 to 1000 l/ha of water depending on crop, growth stage and nutrient demand. Repeat application after 14 days.
